About - Photography
Rich Somerfield has been a serious amateur photographer for over 2 years. During that time he has completed 3 City & Guild training course and has obtained an AS-Level in Photography.

Living and working in the North-West of England he tries to spend as much time as possible researching and taking photographs. As part of this he experiments with a PhotoBlog (richie5um.blogspot.com) which he tries to post to as often as possible.

About - Programming
Rich has over 8 years commercial experience in software development. Prior to this he completed a Bachelors degree in Computer Science at The University of Manchester - achieving 1st class honours.
Commercial experience began with C/C++ working in the Telecoms sector. That then followed with further C/C++ work in Network Security. Along the way gaining a significant amount of C# .Net experience, and also SQL, Win32, and much more.

The projects on this website reflect this experience, but also demonstrate his versatility by self learning AJAX, Javascript, CSS and HTML to completely hand-code this website.

WebSite Design
The website design is all hand-coded, using both Prototype, script.aculo.us, and a few other bits and bobs.  There are more improvements to the website to come, if you can suggest any please contact me.
